When I first set out to find a way to learn Guarani from English on the internet I came up with very little help. Sure, I could find the occasional page with just a little bit of information on Guarani, but I was seeking something more. That is why I created this website for absolutely FREE!! I want those of you who may be traveling to Paraguay or parts of Bolivia, Argentina or Brazil for a visit, or may be planning on doing some mission work there to have a good foundation in Guarani before you arrive. You will be delighted to see the smiles on the faces of the people the first time you say “mba’eichapa”. I will also be including some historical facts about the Guarani language and about the culture in Paraguay as well since it is where I have done all of my work. Hopefully you enjoy this site and have a good foundation in the Guarani language once you study all of the materials!
I believe in learning in small chunks instead of taking everything in at one time and that is why each lesson is so short. Guarani is a difficult language for us English speakers to learn because there are different sounds, such as nasal sounds, that we do not have in English. Hopefully, you will be able to master each lesson and then move on to the next. This is not like formal education where you have to keep up with everyone else. Take it at your own pace and when you are ready to move on feel free to do so. Most importantly I want you to have fun while you learn Guarani, because if it is not fun then learning becomes a chore and nobody likes to do chores.
